The America’s
Cup is a trophy awarded to the
winner of the America's Cup match races between two yachts. One
yacht, known as the defender, represents the yacht cup that currently
holds the America's Cup and the second yacht, known as the
challenger, represents the yacht club that is challenging for the
cup. The America's Cup is the oldest active trophy
in international sportThe trophy was originally awarded in
1851 by the Royal yacht Sqaudron.
The history and prestige associated with the America's
Cup attracts not only the world's top sailors and yacht designers but
also the involvement of wealthy entrepreneurs and sponsors. It is a
test not only of sailing skill and boat and sail design, but also of
fund-raising and management skills.
The city of Naples (Napoli in italian) with his mayor got two great
deals and will host two events of “America's cup”: from April 7 to April
15, 2012 and from May 11 to May 19, 2013
During
this event Naples will show a huge pedestrian area just near the
seaside where will take place the contest!
The
seaside of Napoli is famous for the landscapes with the volcano Vesuvio in the background.The several monuments such as castle of ovo,
new castle, the royal palace and many more are located very closely!
Try the best pizza in the world , just eat at one of the many outdors restaurants and
feel the sea breeze.
Have a
walk in the ancient downtown visiting monuments and gothic churches.
